This original curriculum is practical, flexible, and affordable. It can be used alongside other resources you may have or want, yet it is unique in the fact that its purpose is to engage a male client from the news of a positive test and walk him through the rest of the pregnancy. Written in an EWYL format, Preparing for Dadhood gives you more than 40 reusable lessons to choose from. Lessons are arranged in "teaching trimesters", each one with a different focus for that time of the pregnancy. P4D was written and edited over the course of 7 years by a male client mentor (coach) to meet the specific, real-life situations of his clients. While there are many resources available out there aimed at helping a young man after he becomes a father, the intent of P4D is to engage and reach a young man from day one. We want to get him onboard and involved in this pregnancy right away so that he may be trained, prepared, and encouraged until the day his baby arrives.

There are also 4 Bible studies to pick and choose from that are full of life application wisdom just for young men and expectant fathers. Sharing the Gospel is also a focus. There is a section with flyers, forms, and paperwork that will get you organized and help you hit the ground running. P4D is written to help a coach walk his client through the pregnancy, teaching him about his pre-born baby as he or she develops in the womb, how to treat his partner, and how to prepare for delivery day and after. Many of the lessons serve as tools to help the coach get to know his client and his situation better, thus enabling him to better mentor and disciple him. The Preparing for Dadhood curriculum is more practical and less "philosophical" than anything else you may find for your client. It is an excellent tool for reaching young men with something specifically for them and them alone.
Each lesson has an accompanying "Coach's Guide" that helps your male mentor/coach better understand the purpose and timing of each lesson. This allows him to better develop a more personalized study for the expectant father in your program. P4D is down-to-earth and is best used one-on-one, or can be used just as easily in a classroom setting if you prefer. It can be part of a rewards program and can be shaped into any number of weeks you desire, and can be used alongside other programs without diminishing their intended purpose.
